The RoomPlace to shutter six Indianapolis stores permanently
Total liquidation sale across major retail locations begins April 4

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (April 2, 2024) — The RoomPlace Furniture and Mattress Indianapolis is going out of business and will permanently close six stores in Indianapolis as part of its reorganization process recently announced. The final liquidation sale begins April 4 with once-in-a-lifetime furniture sale prices.

First opened in Chicago in 1912, The RoomPlace has grown extensively with multiple locations in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana. Since 2007, the family-owned retailer has operated six stores in the Indianapolis area, serving the community with integrity and offering excellent prices on vast selection of high-quality home furnishings.

The RoomPlace going-out-of-business sale opens to the public April 4 at the following locations:
14640 Greyhound Plaza, Carmel
5651 E. 86th St., Indianapolis
7609 Shelby St., Indianapolis
8401 Michigan Rd., Indianapolis
8301 E Washington St., Indianapolis
2575 E. Main St., Plainfield

The permanent closure of these retail locations means The RoomPlace is offering remarkably deep discounts across all showrooms for a complete sell-off of merchandise and inventory. Quality mattresses and furniture are available for purchase including sectionals, recliners, dining sets, outdoor furniture, home accessories and much more. The RoomPlace management is committed to completing all existing customers’ orders. For more information on the going-out-of-business sale, visit www.indyroomplace.com.

Established in 1912, The RoomPlace was originally named Harlem Furniture because it occupied a small storefront on Harlem Avenue in West Chicago. In 1985, Harlem Furniture began expanding in the surrounding Chicago area, and by 2001 the store had crossed state borders with multiple locations in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. It was at this point that the company changed its name to The RoomPlace.
